Exhaustive

Exhaustive, not exhausted.

Making sure everything on that list gets a chance, gets looked at, and doesn't fall through the cracks. Making sure everything is considered. All options on board!

The other day I was struck with the thought that New York is a dichotomy of having completely everything at your fingertips and also not having access to many modern conveniences that the rest of the world continues to develop. For example, personal space. A fully stocked grocery store. Parking. Affordable housing. Manners. Time.

Everyone is out for themselves, fighting to survive. Yet, so many people find it worth it. I don't think it's not worth it, but I am in the process of discovering if it's worth it for me.  But what I am discovering is that the continual fight, the struggle, the need to survive- all it does is push you to the very top. It pushes me to continue to think of ways to be a better candidate, to compete in higher playing fields, to grow and develop and see new things and live large.

I met a woman from Sweden at the chamber music retreat a few weeks ago. She was telling me her experience of living in New York. She said that "New York is very hard because everything is the best of the best." Her next sentence showed me that that was the exact reason why she loved living in New York so much.
