And We're Back!

Camera has finally decided to let me put pictures on the computer. Very finicky. In any case, here are a few day's worth of costumes from last week! Part of my job is to unpack and check-in inventory of costumes that are shipped to the production office. Below are some period pieces that I unpacked from a delivery from a costumier in London.  They are for an underworld scene, I guess because there are people from all different time periods that are dead. Look at the pleats! And the lace!  And the hats / bonnets!

Went to Saks later in the day...pouring again, all day.  I really like these little things that give you plastic bags to put your umbrella in.  In Japan they have them up the wazoo, but in the U.S. I haven't seen them very frequently. Just at Saks, I guess. Haha.

I felt like a special secret agent when I went to pick up receipts at the "side door" to Gucci. I imagine secret agents have to be secretive about their shopping habits, too, and only use the side door.

Pretty mosaics in the subway...I don't remember now what station this was at, but it was neat- shiny gold roots and poems all over the walls.

These are The Beautiful Boots that I was telling you about from Lord and Taylor!!!! They come in black too. But this tawny fawn color is so pretty, and the lattice detail is awesome.

So, Wednesday morning I went to Costume Collection with Christine. I think I told you about it- it was where the lobby was filled with the artsy type. Now for a look past the lobby...

Aisles upon aisles of everything you could imagine!!

An army of dress forms!

And one armored man.

Costume Collection was great, because I got to go  help the Assistant Designer restock, and just take a look around one of the many costume rental houses in New York!

More to come tomorrow- about Fashion's Night Out last Thursday (the official kickoff to Fashion Week!), my first real assignment at my internship, my disastrous travel experience to Boston, and my lovely weekend in Boston.  And, I am going to set all day tomorrow, and will be working with extras, so that's coming too!
