At Home at West 98th Street

Maya, the cat, has a very distinct character.  She likes to have a seat at the dinner table at dinnertime, and will meow until you pull up a chair for her.  She likes to watch and be a part of the conversation, and perhaps be fed a little bit of human dinner. If there are many people in one room and nobody is paying attention to her, she will meow and meow and meow, much like a dog.  Sometimes she is very haughty and will ignore me.  Others, she races around and chases imaginary mice.  Here, she has made a nice home for herself in Meredith's dresser. Never have I met a more unusual and amusing cat.

Meredith made again the so-called "Jane Schaller's 100 Dollar Cake."  It was delicious!  Served here with "depression era" green glass teacup, saucer, and plate from her grandparents.
